In October of 2008, the New York State Department of Transportation released a draft regulation restricting truck access in Central New York. This was purely in response to community complaints of truck traffic in their town. Nearly every major business group across New York State has joined together to oppose the NYS Department of Transportation’s proposal to restrict truck access.

WHO ARE WE:

While the communities who have pushed for these restrictions claim their concern is with trash haulers, the reality is that these restrictions will impact all trucks regardless of what they are hauling, which means higher prices for nearly everything you use.

FACT: Everything you use on a daily basis was at some point transported by truck.
FACT: 90% of New York communities depend exclusively on trucks to move their goods.
FACT: Trucks transport 92% of manufactured goods in New York.
FACT: Nearly every business in New York relies on the trucking industry to deliver their goods and products.
FACT: Trucking literally drives the economy of New York.

TRUCKS DELIVER LIFE'S ESSENTIALS!

Think it doesn't impact you?

It Will!

“Charles Carrier, speaking for the state Department of Transportation, said these routes are the only ones listed in the regulations right now.  But he said it is possible that if the regulations are approved, other roads in the state could be added in the future.”
